Together First has written to member states to share our short overview of the Secretary-General’s Our Common Agenda report, and call for urgent action.

On 10 September, the UN Secretary-General launched his much anticipated report setting out a vision for a better future and for more effective, inclusive and networked multilateralism.

Our Common Agenda draws on feedback received from stakeholders over the past two years - including through an ambitious global crowdsourcing exercise and innovative digital consultation, to which Together First contributed.

With humanity facing unprecedented and existential challenges, it is vital that member states help ensure the report leads to urgent action. We hope the report - which was mandated by the General Assembly - will be given due prominence during High-Level Week.

Together First encourages Member States to foster discussion on the report - in the Assembly and in capitals. We suggest this includes discussions on next steps, to ensure that the Secretary-General is given sufficient time to prepare for the proposed 2023 Summit of the Future, including consultations with Member States and other stakeholders.
